Gouri and Tina have taught together since September 2003 at the Dunbar location of Ivy Montessori School. When the chance to own their own school came up, they knew that this was an opportunity not to be missed.  They are committed to providing an engaging and meaningful educational experience.

Tina

When I first worked at Ivy Montessori School, I was amazed at what the children could learn when given the opportunity.

I have teaching experience in a variety of grades; however, I have found that my passion lies with teaching pre-school and Kindergarten children.

My credentials include a B.A. in English with a minor in Education from SFU.  I have an Elementary B.C. teaching licence and an Early Childhood Assistant Certificate.

 

Gouri

I came to teaching a little later on in life, after having explored various other career paths.  When I started teaching, I finally felt like I had come home.  I teach because I love being a part of a child’s discovery of learning and growth.

I have 20 years of experience teaching in a variety of environments: in Montessori schools and play-based preschools, before and after school care, and in a family centre.

My credentials include a B.A. in Geography, an AMI Montessori Primary Diploma and an Early Childhood Education Certificate.
